08 Jun 13 & 14 June – Free creative writing workshops – London Creativity & Wellbeing week
Both workshops will be facilitated by Mary Burns
Monday 13 June 10.30am-1.30pm I WONDER/ I WRITE
Come along and take the opportunity to wonder, reflect and express unspoken thoughts, release emotions, better understand your world through a series of guided story and poetry writing, and discussion.
In writing for wellbeing there is no emphasis on writing style, paragraphs, punctuation, no mistakes are possible. You just write about what comes up for you… exploration, freedom, inspiration. You choose whether to share, or not, this is completely up to you.
As you read over, reflect on, share what you wrote, you may gain increased understanding and identify some new thoughts and feelings around why you do certain things. And you will have lots of fun!
Tuesday 14 June 7-10pm LINES OF VISION
Come and join Mary Burns in an evening of bringing together two celebrated traditions: art and literature. During this workshop we shall explore the potential of paintings to offer us a unique and personal relationship with a visual image.
We shall view a selection of paintings and choose one that says something special to us, that inspires us, attracts our attention and refuse to move on until the painting has nothing left to tell us. We shall then use this picture as a setting off point to explore ideas and tell, write (and share if you wish) stories about art, love, loss, family, dreams, memories and places.
