Monday 12 June – Using experiences from her own life Tracey Emin (born, Margate, 1963) often reveals painful situations with brutal honesty and poetic humour. The personal expands to the universal in the way Emin takes a feeling about her life and forms it into a genuine expression of a human emotion.
A consummate storyteller, she engages the viewer with her candid exploration of universal emotions. Well-known for her confessional art, Tracey Emin reveals intimate details from her life to engage the viewer with her expressions of universal emotions. Her ability to integrate her work and personal life allows Emin to establish an intimacy with the viewer. We shall be tracing Tracey’s development from her time at the Royal College of Art to current, award-winning work.
