Would you like to learn or improve your life drawing skills?


Join Sheila Moylan in a friendly and supportive environment to study life drawing; talking about different artists and their work; learning from each other and noting points of reference recommended by Sheila.
Each week you examine an aspect of life drawing and mark making building your confidence and skill set culminating in a session on how to take life drawing out of the studio.

We cover the following topics…

Basics  – Line drawing.  “It’s only paper…”

Making it 3D

Practice Makes Amazing

Developing your new drawing skills

Fore-shortening. “What you see; not what you know to be there”

Further development of mark making skills

Materials workshop

Colour and tone together

Pick your materials

How to take figure drawing out of the studio  kids dogs and portraits


Level: Beginners and those who want to improve their technique

Materials: All materials will be supplied for this course during which Sheila will guide you as to the best equipment to buy.

The Orchard Café is part of the new housing development on Singapore Road, running behind the high street in West Ealing, at the opposite end of Singapore Road to Ealing Magistrates Court and opposite the mosque. Slightly to the left at the T Junction between Brownlow Rd and Singapore Rd
By car:
use Eccleston Road in your sat nav – Singapore Road is off it.
By public transport:
Nearest train station is West Ealing;
Nearest underground station Northfields (Piccadilly line);
Buses 83, 207, 427 & Express 607 – bus stop West Ealing Broadway / E3,E8 – bus stop Melbourne Avenue.
Walk up Brownlow Road beside Stacks to the Café.
