16 Oct Mosaic Weekend Workshops
Perfect for Beginners…
Mosaic Weekend Workshop Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 November
Perfect for beginners to really get your teeth into learning the basic skills of mosaic making, using the tools, cutting glass and ceramic, making a design, laying the pieces, adhering and grouting.
You will start off with a small basic project like a wall panel, a tile or a useful trivet which you would expect to complete and then possibly move on to another piece which you may well complete – but if not, you will have the skills and know-how to be able to finish at home.
There will be lot of materials to play with – ceramic, glass, porcelain – and lots of books and ideas to give you inspiration, pens, tracing paper, carbon paper etc. – but if you have some ideas do bring them along too.
More experienced students are also welcome to work on more advanced projects under expert supervision and guidance.
Dates: Saturday-Sunday 4/5th November 10am – 5pm
Cost: The cost is 150 per person and we supply all the basic materials together with safety goggles and tools – but please bring your own apron! Tea and coffee are available throughout the day.
Tutors: Sarah Stanley (Sarah Stanley Mosaics) and Wendy Freeman (Grove Studios) are both local professional mosaic artists who have each been making mosaics for more than 20 years, they both teach regularly, exhibit widely and work to commission.
Space is limited so places are available on a first come first served basis and we have a few intermediate students that have expressed an interest also – please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07939 541870 to book.
