29 Aug ‘Mr Turner’ – Gallery Tour with Nick Pearson
Join our regular art lecturer, Nick Pearson at Tate Britain this Thursday, Sept 1st, for a guided tour of the Turner Collection in the Clore Gallery. The English Romantic painter J.M.W. Turner was the subject of a very well-received Mike Leigh film in 2014, starring Timothy Spall and engravings of two of the artist’s paintings will adorn the forthcoming Bank of England £20 note, which will be in circulation by 2020. Now is your chance to find out more about this important and fascinating artist, from the collection he bequeathed to the nation.
Meet at 2.30pm in the main entrance (Millbank) foyer.
The tour lasts for 2 hours (or as long as it takes!). Portable lightweight folding seats are available for those who may need them.
Cost is £30/person (cash or cheque only please). This goes down to £25 if there are five people or more in the group. If there are ten, the price is further reduced to £20. Ten is the limit though, Nick prefers a smaller group and Tate requires two weeks’ advance booking for groups of more than 10.
Please contact Nick on firstname.lastname@example.org for further information and to register your place on the tour.
